We're not into clubbing or anything - more into spending time at the beach or enjoying sites around town. What would be our best choice for destination and most affordable? Anyone recommend a good travel site for DR despite the obvious choices (ie expedia.com, etc)...?

It can be near where you live or far away ? but you have to be able to get there by car. So where?s the best place to go when you want to go get away from it all? And is the appeal in the journey or the destination?
