All Inclusive Vacation

I was just reading answers to another question and one YA comment really struck a chord with me - "expecting people to travel great distances and take vacation time to do so, to go to destination weddings, weddings on holiday weekends, weddings that are done so cheaply ( i loved the recent " do i have to provide chairs?" questions) that they really really should not not not be done at all, well, these are all new things in this world where anything goes. except, the truth is, it doesnt." I don't mean to target this person at all> i was just hurt by this comment. Both me and my fiance, my fiances parents and my parents live in different cities, so we are having the wedding in his hometown where some of my relatives also happen to live. Most of my side will have to travel around 4-5 hours to get to the wedding.(all in all, about half the guests will need to travel). This is also just after New Years - so my question is, is this really unreasonable of us to have a wedding where people need to travel AND is planned over a holiday? We are having the wedding at this time and this place because with my fiance being in the army it's the only time we can "fit in" the wedding for the last 2 years. Going by the comment above this is a MASSIVE no-no. Do all people think like this?? Is this what all our guests are thinking??

My boyfriend and i just got home from Cancun and loved everything about it, epically the value for out money. Know of any other destinations that known for all inclusive flights,hotels, meals and drinks? Thanks so much.

My boyfriend of 4 years and I are going to get married and not tell anyone (elope). We decided that we want to go somewhere we haven't been to before so no Florida, Chicago, (we're from Iowa), Nebraska and I definitely don't want to do something overdone like VEGAS. Where can I find a laid back but well maintained beach town in the US? Me and my girlfriend are looking to go on a vacation next month somewhere nice with a laid back attitude. In the summer we vacation at Sylvan Beach, NY which has a well maintained beach and a very small amusement park. However, because it is in NY it obviously is not a good destination for December as the beach will likely be under 2 feet of snow by then. Any Ideas? We would prefer to be able to rent a small cottage with some privacy from neighbors. Our budget is about $1500 and we would like that to cover a weeks stay. Preferably the cost of lodging will be near $1000 to leave a travel and dining budget. Thanks for the response U.S.A. gal but we are looking for somewhere warm in December :)
